ipod.

brooke bought me my ipod I think christmas 2003. it was a 40 gig. and it was awesome. I think this sweet little baby cost about $500. and over the past 5 years, it has carried my music with me wherever I've gone. I've dropped it countless times, replaced the battery twice, and taken it apart to fix it more times than I can count. countless nights with headphones on, long hours in the car, traveling all over the country, and my ipod has always been right with me.

but a couple days ago, it breathed its last. I went out and bought a new ipod, of course. and even though it is nicer and cleaner and has color and video and shoots laser beams, I still like the old one better.

I'll miss you, old ipod.

Just today I was on the edge of despair. And what brought me the balm of Feist's version of "Secret Heart" but my trusty audio treasure box?

Thank you, sweet ipod. And thank you, Al Gore, for inventing it.

Sad. But laser beams are awesome!

My original (aka the one with the spinny wheel) hasn't died yet, so I'm stoked about that... but I can't find the charger, all I can find is the car charger, which is stupid.

i still use clint's old white brick of an ipod in my car. its nice because i can play catch up on all the great records clint's been listening to forever but i've just discovered. i've probably listened to scarlett's walk a dozen times in the past week.

I'm sort of obsessed with my iPod, and really sad that it's on the verge of being filled. (I already filled it but then I deleted some music that I don't really care about. Should probably dig out the actual CDs and give them away, too!) I don't want to upgrade to a larger model, but someday it's got to happen. After all, I still have a lot of Beatles material to buy...

That is sad. What happened?

My replacement iPod (iTouch) is a very cool but all of the extras (it is basically a tiny laptop) distracts me from playing the music. There was something so 2001-futuristic about the original one that has been lost over time...

...and Liz, "Scarlett's Walk" has some cool bass sounds.

my big white ipod (circa 2005) died this week too. well, it still operates, but 1/4 of the screen doesn't work. and that is kind of a problem... i want an iphone next. but i think i may have to settle for a cellphone and an ipod b/c we don't want to join AT&T...

but my favorite thing to listen to on my deceased music box was bright eyes.

BTM, that model was my first iPod. when i had to replace it i was bummed because the clicky noise on the new ones is not as good. and they don't glow orange. i feel your pain..

i have a big one, too that tim bought me for my bday 4 years ago. it just started acting weird a couple of weeks ago. going to try the take everything off & load it back on thing & see if that works. been spending a lot of money lately so i really don't want to have to buy a new one. if i can't make it better i may need you to look at it while you & brooke drink some wine w/ us. we can do this in your free time. since you seem to have so much right now. :)
