Is that a rest sign (forgive my musical notation ignorance)?

hey george - yeah man, nice call. that's exactly what it is. a quarter rest, to be specific.

Nice. . .

why only a quarter?

I think because we don't get much rest here. after I die, I want someone to paint a whole rest on me.

Ah, a quarter rest. That is a pretty awesome tattoo. Is that on your arm or another appendage?

Brian T. Murphy said...

it's the arm.

it sort of looks like a fake arm.

a whole rest looks like a hat. quarter rest was the way to go. i think resting for a quarter of one's life is just enough.
notwithstanding, it could also be misinterpreted as a cool looking 'm' for murph.

andrew - it is a totally for real arm.

bb - I can suggest a fantastic tattoo guy to give you that whole rest...

anon - I don't care what the whole rest looks like. I'm not getting it till I'm dead.

Hey! I was on the phone with a friend, and I said "I wonder if I have a tattoo twin somewhere?" He suggested I Google it, and your blog showed up. I have the same quarter rest tattoo...but on my left foot and for different reasons, but I love it!

I also clicked on same random blogs and came across one where you visited Santa Cruz and San Francisco, CA... which is funny because I lived in the area for about 5 years. I looked at your profile as well and as simple as liking art, making music, and photography can sound.. I would sum up my life in a similar way. Only your photography is by far better, and I'm only an amateur.

Since you're like my tattoo soul mate, I thought I would drop a line. :)
